Rave Review- Estée Lauder Double Wear

Okay, so as a pre- birthday treat (and by pre I mean it's about a month away still...) I got the itch to buy myself a new expensive foundation. Now I wouldn't normally go this far up the price range as I am a poor student and really shouldn't be spending my money. Not having a disposable income really bites...

But I bit the bullet anyway and got myself the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation.

I had seen this foundation doing the round on the beauty blogs etc and it had been getting pretty good reviews. So while I may be a bit late jumping on the bandwagon, I'm so glad I'm on it because I freaking LOVE this foundation.

My skin hasn't been great lately thanks to the new uni life- student diet, drinking, not much sleep (I'm in a flat of 20 and I'm the room next to the kitchen...) and general laziness so it's been flaring up a little but nothing too major.
However, the one big thing I've noticed is that my current foundation- L'Oreal True Match- isn't doing me that many favours either. It's coverage isn't great and I'll return from a day at uni feeling horrible and oily.

In this picture, I am wearing nothing but the foundation- no concealer, no powder. The coverage is great to the point that I would only use concealer for my dark eye circles. The foundation itself is quite thick- something that worried me at first but once applied, it doesn't feel heavy at all. MAC Studio Fix Fluid is probably pretty closest too it in the sense of how thick it is, except I found MAC quite heavy on my skin.
A big plus for me is that it doesn't leave my skin feeling dirty or oily. I wore it for a full day at uni, including taking the bus *shudder* and returned back to halls, feeling just at fresh as I was in the morning and it had damn well stayed put.

The only con for me is that it doesn't have a pump so I feel like it's really easy to waste it if I'm not careful when I pour it out. That and the price. At £26.50, this is easily the most expensive make up I own and normally wouldn't even tiptoe around this price range. Unfortunately, now that I've found out just how good it is, I'm gonna have a real problem not buying it again once I've run out....
